Yakamoz Privacy Policy
Draft — pending legal review.
Version: 1.0.0 · Controller: Swiip (swiip.app). Covers GDPR/UK GDPR; the Turkish KVKK notice is separate.
1. In short
- The Yakamoz app collects no data about you: no telemetry, no usage statistics, no advertising ID, no account.
- Crash reports leave your PC only by your own e-mail (or by copying to the clipboard); nothing is uploaded to our servers.
- Every network request the app makes is listed below; most are optional.
2. Data that stays on your PC
Your settings, pinned apps, the change ledger and the log file stay in the user data folder on your PC. The file-search service (optional) keeps a local index of file names that never leaves your PC. Clipboard history and the shelf stay local.
Trial, machine code, and the licence server. So the 14-day trial cannot be restarted again and again on the same computer, Yakamoz asks a small licence server (operated by us) once, when the trial first starts, to record when this machine began. To recognise the same machine without identifying you, the app sends a salted, one-way hash of three hardware signals (the Windows machine GUID, the firmware system UUID, and the system drive's volume serial) — never the raw values, and nothing that names you. The server stores only these hashes and the first-seen date, keeps no IP address (rate limits use a daily-rotated hash) and keeps no account. The server's answer is a signed token cached locally (settings file, HKCU\Software\Yakamoz, and %ProgramData%\Yakamoz) so the app then works offline; deleting those copies does not restart the trial, because the server remembers the machine. After the trial you see a short code (e.g. K7Q2-M9XD) — it is derived from those hashes and lets us extend your trial; it identifies the machine, not you. If you give feedback, that code is in the mail subject so we can extend the right machine. If you choose "tell me at launch", only the e-mail you type is stored, with your explicit consent, and you can have it deleted at any time.
Waitlist. Sales are not open; there is no price and no payment. If a price ever opens, a payment provider will handle it and this page will say so first.
3. Network requests made by the app
| Purpose | To | What is sent | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weather | Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) | Roughly rounded location (latitude/longitude); your IP address reaches the server as in any request | No; only if you enable weather |
| Lyrics | LRCLIB | Title/artist of the playing song | No; only if enabled |
| Calendar | ICS URLs you add | A standard HTTP request (the owner of the URL sees your IP) | No; only if you add one |
| Update check | Yakamoz update server | An anonymous GET of one signed manifest file; we send no identifier or device data | No; asked in setup, nothing installs without your click |
| Trial / licence | Yakamoz licence server | A salted one-way hash of three hardware signals, the app version, a random nonce; no IP kept, no name | Once at first trial start; then a daily re-check that rides the update check |
The app makes no other network requests. The crash-report e-mail is sent from your own mail program (see 4).
4. Crash reports
After an unexpected close, the app shows you the exact text that would be sent. User paths, names and e-mail addresses are scrubbed from it. Choices: "Send by e-mail" (your mail program opens), "Copy to clipboard", "Don't send", "Don't ask again". Nothing is sent until you click. No minidump is taken.
5. Purchase and licence
Buying is not open yet. When sales open, payment will be taken by a payment provider; we will not see your card or billing data. The licence will hold no name or e-mail, and we will keep no customer database. The provider's name and privacy policy will be announced on this page when sales open.
6. Website
The site is static: no cookies, trackers, analytics, or external fonts/scripts. The hosting provider (Vercel) may keep technical server logs (IP, time, page requested) for security; how long depends on the provider's policy.
7. Support e-mail
If you e-mail us, we use your address and message only to reply, and delete them when no longer needed.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR (EU/EEA/UK) you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing, and you may complain to your supervisory authority. Because we hold almost no data linkable to you, most requests resolve quickly. How to reach us will be published at swiip.app. Turkish residents: see the KVKK Notice.
9. Children
The Software is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
If we update this policy we publish the new date on the site. A change that widens what is collected will also be shown in the software.
